9B celebrates Australia Day
The focus culture for 9B this year in English is Australia. In the first semester, we learned about Australian geography by planning our own trips around Australia. We later learned about Aboriginal art, by creating items to be found in a museum gift shop based on well known Aboriginal artwork. But then it was time to celebrate! On January 25 of this year, 9B celebrated Australia Day with fun Australian tattoos, Anzac biscuits cut into fun Aussie shapes (recipe: http://www.foodinaminute.co.nz/Recipes/Anzac-Biscuits), and a traditional Oz pavlova (recipe: https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/12126/easy-pavlova/). We learned about and watched some Aussie rules football and learned to cheer them on Aussie style. Too right mate, too right.
